Are you an analytical and detail-oriented accounting professional with a passion for the oil and gas industry? Valor is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in Fort Worth, Texas, a role that is integral to our commitment to precision and excellence in financial management. In this position, you will be at the heart of our accounting operations, responsible for handkeying client revenue checks, generating monthly revenue reports, and ensuring the accuracy and consistency of client portals. Your role will also involve reconciling deposit statements, preparing and processing joint interest billings, and conducting thorough reviews of billing charges. Additionally, you will perform calculations for property allocations, manage account payables, and ensure compliance with company accounting standards. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, along with experience in a related accounting role, particularly in the oil and gas sector, is preferred. Responsibilities

  • Handkey client revenue checks.
  • Generate client monthly revenue reports
  • Evaluate client portals for consistency and accuracy.
  • Reconcile deposit statements with revenue checks received.
  • Generate journal entries to facilitate joint billing activities throughout each month.
  • Prepare and process monthly joint interest billings, including invoice preparation and timely delivery to interest owners.
  • Conduct a thorough review of charges associated with joint interest billing.
  • Perform calculations and documentation of property allocations.
  • Encode and categorize account payables for the purpose of billing.
  • Categorically classify and upload non-operating joint interest billings into the accounting system
  • Reconcile year-end 1099 forms.
  • Work in compliance with company accounting standards and guidelines.

Skills

  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in data entry financial calculations, and joint interest billing concepts.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve variances.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with specialized JIB software is a plus.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field, is preferred
  • Experience in a related accounting role is necessary; oil and gas experience required.
